8 Students Arrested Over Internet Scam

Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested two undergraduate internet stammers and six other fraudsters at the upscale 1004 Housing Estate, Victoria Island, Lagos .One of the undergraduates, Hope Olusegun, a 25 year-old indigene of Okene, Kogi State , claims to be a student of Computer Science at the Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University, Malaysia.He was arrested by operatives of EFCC over allegations of fraud and internet scam. A petition by a concerned group alerted the Commission about the activities of Olusegun and his co-travelers at the elite 1004 Housing Estate where the fraudsters engaged in fraudulent activities of obtaining money by false pretences and forgery.A search conducted by EFCC operatives at Olusegun’ s apartment led to the recovery of several items such as laptops, iPad phones, travelling documents, cheque books, flash drives, internet modem, and three exotic cars – a Mercedes Benz Jeep, One 4Matic Mercedes Benz Car and a Range Rover Sport SUV. Their arrest was sequel to a petition on their notorious activities at the Housing Estate. Sodiq (23) hails from Lagos and claimed to be an undergraduate of Brandry University , Malaysia .The leader of the syndicate, Badmus Akeem, hails from Ayetoro, Ogun State and attended Oniwaya High School , Agege.He claimed to be a traveler who does odd jobs wherever he travels.“I decided to move to Malaysia to further my education while I do “Hot jobs” as well. I just got back a week ago before the festive period and also produce music and manage artistes,” he claimed.On why he chose to live at the expensive 1004 estate where he and his friends pay N30, 000 daily, he said it was to avoid the stress that friends and relations could bring to him. “I didn’t stay on the Mainland in Lagos because of stress of friends when you just get back from abroad.”Sodiq said that the Range Rover Sport car which was recovered from them belonged to his mother despite the fact that the car bears his alias, “T.Wizzle” .He stated in his statement that the mother decided to customize the car plate number after the name of his first son. Other items recovered by the Commission include laptops, flash drives, internet modem, cheque books and a host of others. They are to be arraigned in court soon. Commission is making efforts to track down other members of Olusegun’s syndicate who are currently at large. 2face And Annie Idibia Set To Wed By February

2face and Annie Idibia are keeping the details of their wedding close to their chest...as in...nobody is saying anything...but I managed to get some information for you guys. #tongueout! :-)They will be getting married in February...maybe February 14, exactly a year after he popped the question in front of their friends at a night club in VI. I'm not really sure about the Feb 14th date, but here's what I am sure about; Annie's wedding dress will be made by Yvonne Nwosu of Vonne Couture and I also know that Annie has already met with some of her brides maids, which includes actress Kendra Etufunwa and TV personality Tana Egbo Adelana. Their traditional wedding will hold in Nigeria, maybe Abuja and the white wedding might hold outside the country. I heard 'exotic Caribbean Island', maybe Barbados. Their wedding IVs will be going out soon!Like I said, people close to the couple are refusing to say much...but it's me and them in this Lagos! It all started like a big joke and Hiikay was right there to bring you all the juicy details. Akon was in Calabar to perform at the Calabar festival along side Psquare, MayD, Jmartins. His performance was dope until a group of lawless boys started fighting somewhere in the middle of the UJ Esuene stadium.  Akon noticed it and asked that they stop the fight or he would go through the crowd to where the fight was taking place. The boys were obviously engulfed in their thirst to shed blood that they didn't even listen.  So, before you say jack Robinson, Akon just jumps in the mammoth crowd.His body guards were shocked and tried to jump in after him but they couldn't. Akon kept screaming"Lift me up..ama go out there,take me there"(na boat hin dey?)..Anyway, the crowd was too busy trying to rip off his belt..hehehe..and the left leg of his shoe ....by the time his bodyguards got to him and brought him back on stage, his belt buckle was gone too. Akon didn't give up o. He kept insisting that they let him go over there and so, he went back stage and unknown to us, he had a balloon(abeg i dont know what they call it)..He first stood on stage and before you know it, Akon jumped in the crowd, shielded by that balloon. It was the most amazing sight I've ever seen as the crowd kept throwing him around the stadium like a volleyball.His body guards were running helter-skelter, trying to get into the crowd to steer him safely back on stage,but he kept going further to the excitement and shock of spectators. Calabar crowd rocks as they steered him safely back towards the stage and when he got back on stage and came out of the balloon. The crowd erupted in cheers. Now, that's some gangsta move...did i forget to mention, Psquare was peeping from behind the stage, with their mouths hanging open.(They no fit try am)lol........ see more photos below:

Psquare blocks May D from performing at the calaber carnival

The last has certainly not been heard of the P-Square/May D split, as the very influential twins ensured that their former protege, did not perform at the just concluded Calabar Carnival, accordingto a report reaching us. Just when we thought there would be a reunion on stage between MayD and Psquare, it is clear that won't be happening anytime soon.MayD was billed to perform alongside Psquare and Akon at the Calabar festival. His name was on the list and true to their words, MayD arrived at Calabar airport on the same flight with Psquare.According to source, trouble smelt when he looked alone and didn't walk with them (Psquare). They rode in separate cars and he waslodged in a separate hotel from them.When the show finally got started, J martins emerged and had replaced Mayd. This development stirred people's interest as they were asking questions about his whereabouts.Curiosity became very high at the venue as to why Mayd would come all the way to Calabar and not perform. Sources said "He wasnt paid his balance and decided to pull out".One of Akon's people asked where MayD was and was told the same thing"In his words, that's not good mennn..sometimes, it really isn't about the money you know. Akon loves that dude mennnn"However, another reliable source said that "When Mayd was put on the list of performing artistes, the organizers didnt know he wasnt with Square records anymore. US secretary of state Hillary Clinton hospitalized with blood clot

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been sent to the hospital with a blood clot stemming from a concussion she suffered earlier this month and is being assessed by doctors, a State Department spokesman said.“In the course of a follow-up exam today, Secretary Clinton’s doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago,” spokesman Philippe Reines said in a statement on Monday.“She is being treated with anti-coagulants and is at New York-Presbyterian Hospital so that they can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours,” Reines said. “Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion.     They will determine if any further action is required.”Clinton, 65, has been off work since her return from her last foreign trip on December 7, although her staff has said she has been working from home.  Her lengthy absence from public life had sparked claims from some of her fiercer critics that she is trying to avoid testifying in a congressional investigation into a deadly attack on a US mission in Libya.Earlier this month, the State Department said Clinton had contracted a bad stomach virus during her five-day stay in Europe.
