US secretary of state Hillary Clinton hospitalized with blood clot

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been sent to the hospital with a blood clot stemming from a concussion she suffered earlier this month and is being assessed by doctors, a State Department spokesman said.“In the course of a follow-up exam today, Secretary Clinton’s doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago,” spokesman Philippe Reines said in a statement on Monday.“She is being treated with anti-coagulants and is at New York-Presbyterian Hospital so that they can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours,” Reines said. “Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion.     They will determine if any further action is required.”Clinton, 65, has been off work since her return from her last foreign trip on December 7, although her staff has said she has been working from home.  Her lengthy absence from public life had sparked claims from some of her fiercer critics that she is trying to avoid testifying in a congressional investigation into a deadly attack on a US mission in Libya.Earlier this month, the State Department said Clinton had contracted a bad stomach virus during her five-day stay in Europe. She had to cancel a planned trip to North Africa and Abu Dhabi due to the illness.A week later, Clinton’s doctors said she had become severely dehydrated due to the effects of the stomach bug and had fainted, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been sent to the hospital with a blood clot stemming from a concussion she suffered earlier this month and is being assessed by doctors, a State Department spokesman said.“In the course of a follow-up exam today, Secretary Clinton’s doctors discovered a blood clot had formed, stemming from the concussion she sustained several weeks ago,” spokesman Philippe Reines said in a statement on Monday.“She is being treated with anti-coagulants and is at New York-Presbyterian Hospital so that they can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours,” Reines said. “Her doctors will continue to assess her condition, including other issues associated with her concussion. We are happy that Nigerian Breweries is one of the corporate bodies that have bought into the idea and I know that this partnership between Lagos State and NB will only grow stronger,” he stated. While calling on Lagosians to visit the Star Mega City, Governor Fashola added that the crossover concert was a perfect way for fun-seekers to end the year. “I must say that the Star Mega City is a unique concept. I want to urge Lagosians from all walks of life to be at the Star Mega City and then at the Crossover Concert today as it will be the perfect way to end the year,” Governor Fashola said.Mr. Yusuf Ageni, Corporate Affairs Adviser of NB lent credence to Governor Fashola’s speech. The 2012 KORA awards was delayed by 24 hours but it wasn’t enough to douse the surprises and thrills of the epoch making event which held late Sunday night in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Petite framed beauty and Kedike crooner Chidinma walked away with the Best African Female Act award for her hit song ‘Kedike’  surprisingly beating ebony skinned, song goddess Omawumi’s ‘If you ask me’ and five other African female artists.Omo baba olowo Davido who was absent also was a winner at the event as he clinched the Best Newcomer Award. It wasn’t a happy KORA awards event for D’Banj, Clarence Peters and the Infinity Group as they failed to win in their categories as Best Male African act, Best Director and Best Gospel group respectively.

See Nigeria’s most searched music celebrities of 2012 as released by Google

It’ s an incredible list holding equally incredibly powerful music celebrities who have steadfastly remained at the peak of their careers, ending the year 2012 with a deafening roar!

According to Google’s annual Zeitgeist list, the top ten most searched music celebrities for the year ending 2012 are:10. Asa9. Flavour8, Tuface7. Tiwa Savage6. Ice Prince5. Timaya4. P Square3. D’banj2. MI and1. Davido.Three out of the list (Asa, P Square and D’banj) had kept their acts well alive on local and international stages, while the others had concentrated more on holding their fans hostage back here in the country.Tiwa Savage had re-branded herself and her music; moving from Flytime to being a Mavin and then Timaya who had jumped in just in time with his controversial music video “Bum bum”Interestingly or rather surprisingly, wonder star Wiz Kid didn’t make the list, neither did Marvin Crew boss Don Jazzy. Both of whom had endless issues tied to them the entire year especially Don Jazzy who severed business and perhaps friendship ties with D’banj before going on to float his own music label Mavin Crew.Did your favourite artiste make the list? hit us with your comments…

Davido And His Manager Asa Asika Part Ways

After almost two years of working together, Davido, 20, and his manager Asa Asika, 22, (center) have parted ways. They reportedly ended their working relationship a few days back but none of them have said anything about it yet, though they've both changed their Twitter bios.I'm trying to find out what really happened between these two as there are a few versions of what led to their break up. One version claims that Asa was dropped because Davido has become too big an artist for him (Asa) to handle. Another version claims Davido assaulted Asa over money.I don't know the real story but I plan to ask Davido when I see him at Funmi Iyanda's show tomorrow. Stay tuned! Hehe...!
